چکیده

The research included 19 breeding lines and 4 cultivars of spring barley from the preliminary field experiments harvested in 2020 Radzików. All samples were characterized for content protein, non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) with soluble (S-NSP) insoluble (I-NSP) fractions β-glucan. Additionally, viscosity water extracts (WEV) was measured to determine functional properties grain. It most diverse parameter (CV = 27%) significantly correlated β-glucan (r 0.50; p <0.05). This dependence is shown by results obtained grain Avatar cultivar RAH 744/19 line, which (5.3% 4.8%, respectively), as well WEV (3.3 mPa.s 3.0 mPa.s, respectively) highest. lowest β – glucan (3.5%) one values (1.4 mPa.s) observed KWS Jessie cultivar. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed a substantial impact two components PC1 PC2 on variability analyzed material showing significant 5 genotypes confirmed previous biochemical analyzes. Our made it possible indicate several that may constitute source works aimed at improving quality barley. Presented study also show some new genotypes, favorable chemical composition fodder brewing perspective, good future use industry.

An estimation of the combining ability of barley genotypes and heterosis for some quantitative traits

ABSTRACT- Barley (Hordeumvulgare L.) is one of the most important cereals in the world which is used as human and cattle feed and for malt production. One of the most important steps in a hybrid and selection breeding program of barley is the selection of suitable parents with high general (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) for grain yield. In order to estimate the combining ability and...

Variability of Root Traits in Spring Wheat Germplasm

Root traits influence the amount of water and nutrient absorption, and are important for maintaining crop yield under drought conditions. The objectives of this research were to characterize variability of root traits among spring wheat genotypes and determine whether root traits are related to shoot traits (plant height, tiller number per plant, shoot dry weight, and coleoptile length), region...

Genomewide analysis of epistatic effects for quantitative traits in barley.

The doubled-haploid (DH) barley population (Harrington x TR306) developed by the North American Barley Genome Mapping Project (NABGMP) for QTL mapping consisted of 145 lines and 127 markers covering a total genome length of 1270 cM. These DH lines were evaluated in approximately 25 environments for seven quantitative traits: heading, height, kernel weight, lodging, maturity, test weight, and yi...

Structural and Temporal Variation in Genetic Diversity of European Spring Two-Row Barley Cultivars and Association Mapping of Quantitative Traits

Two hundred sixteen barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivars were selected to represent the diversity and history of European spring two-row barley breeding and to search for alleles controlling agronomic traits by association genetics. The germplasm was genotyped with 7864 gene-based single nucleotide polymorphism markers and corresponding field trial trait data relating to growth and straw stren...

Comparing evolvability and variability of quantitative traits.

There are two distinct reasons for making comparisons of genetic variation for quantitative characters. The first is to compare evolvabilities, or ability to respond to selection, and the second is to make inferences about the forces that maintain genetic variability. Measures of variation that are standardized by the trait mean, such as the additive genetic coefficient of variation, are approp...
